Tom C Spills It All

I just wanted to post this little link to an interview with the brilliant Tom Caulfield, who I have worked with on many projects, including alot for us here. Anyway it was an interview conducted by Dan from Pegbar and thanks Dan for sending me the link.

It is curious though as to how myself and Tom's stories of how we ended up in the art class because the business class was full are so similar. Where would both of us be now if we hadn't had seen Beauty and the Beast either.

Enjoy the read.

Great External Links

So a couple of new things have been posted to the World Wide Web recently that are worth checking out.

The official french Brendan and the Secret of Kells trailer has been posted to the ever expanding YouTube and can be found here.

Its great to see the snowdrops in full flow, after all the people who worked on them.

And in the world of shorts, the award winning Nora Twomey has started up a blog where you can see two of her films in full. It brings back alot of memories watching From Darkness.  :)

Back From Salerno

For the last couple of days we spent our time in sunny Italy at the Cartoons on the Bay Festival in Salerno. For us the weather was great and spent most of out time in t-shirts, while the local wore their big, thick coats. and us irish got blamed for bringing the weather with us, but we are back to work now and getting Wulfie ready for Cartoon Forum submission.

But at the festival Michael took a couple of photos with his camera phone...

I am off to get lost on our first day at the festival.

Our new buddy Juan Camilo Gonzalez from Columbia.
And can I just say that when I am in Columbia I like to drink Cafe de Columbia.

Aidan Harte, Director of Skunk Fu! gets us lost once again, just this time in Rome.
See Aidan's blog here and he is now studying sculpture in Florence.

On our way to the Vatican

Wulfie Starts

We are currently working on a tv series development called "Wulfie" and what happens when a young girl finds she shares her room with a big bad wolf.

Libby’s parents are mean. So mean that every time she annoys them – even accidentally – they threaten her with the Big Bad Wolf.  She never could figure out why he only ate naughty little girls when Libby had a perfectly horrid brother to whom he was welcome. One day, fed up with yet another of her parents’ threats and left alone in the house, Libby set out to find and confront the Big Bad Wolf. She would persuade him to at least eat her nasty brother before he ate her and, ideally, her parents.

And here is some artwork from the development...
...firstly my original concept for the project

...Libby concept work from Aurelie Blard-Quintard. See more of her

...another concept from Aurelie

... then Tom Caulfield came on to the project and produced some fine artwork

Brendan and his Secret

I am very close to finishing up on Brendan and the Secret of Kells, a feature we worked on with the lads and lassies at The Cartoon Saloon, and Tomm, the director has been keeping a great blog on the film, documenting the whole experience. Check it out here...

I looked after the efx in the film as well as the chocolate runs in the studio. I poached a still from Tomm's blog for here.
