We have been rather quiet on the blog of late, with one good reason, a tv project we have been working on since December 2009. But the time has come to pay homage to the small tight crew that have done all has been asked of them. Although you can not tell by their faces the crew pictured above are responsible for producing 12 mins of animation every single week. A great achievement deserving of some silverware (even if we found it lying around the studio).
So I would like to thank (back row, left to right) Donal, Me (although no need to thank myself), Lorraine, Don, John, Brian & Michael, (front row, left to right) Fergal, Sophia, Mark & Alice (not pictured).

It’s been a couple great weeks here in A Man & Ink and to top it off there was the arrival back from college of Fergal, who worked with us on The Variety Show last year. He seems to be getting on well back in the animation industry, fitting in with the other animators.

Hollywood has arrived in Galway, well maybe just a very small part. For the last week or so the ship, call the “Bounty”, that was used in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and according to Wikipedia a couple of other films, one or two that are not really for a family audience, has been docked ousite Sheirdans pub.

Last week was the Galway Film Fleadh and it is always a great time to catch up with the animation people from around the country. One of the only times in the year where we all manage to get together under the one (usually a pub) roof.
During the chit chat Michael managed to whip out his iPhone for a quick snap shot of the moment and here in the photo from left to right, is myself, Jeremy, Mr. Will Collins (writer on The Variety Show & Song of the Sea), Sir Tomm Moore (Director and Head Honcho of Cartoon Saloon as well as Director on The Secret of Kells), Master Barry O’Donoghue (Chief of Barley Films and Producer of many an award winning short at the fleadh), and the lovely Madame Liselott, the better half of Tomm.
