Here is a design thats being sitting on my desktop for quite sometime. The original drawing is by our good buddy Tom Caulfield, who is living it up over in Paris at the moment. I had great fun playing with the textures in Art Rage and Photoshop. I must take a break from series animation more often.

Miss Remarkable and her Career (Fröken Märkvärdig & Karriären) will be making it premier at the Annecy International Animation Festival 2010 7th – 12th June. And we are looking forward to the visit to the sun and french based cinema. Myself, Michael and two animators on the film, Donal Mangan and Fergal Brennan will be making the trip south.

Tonight it all starts as our first tv series gets an airing. Unfortunately, for now only people within Ireland will be able to see it, but at 18.30 for the next 2 weeks, right between The Simpsons and Home and Away, The Variety Show will take to the stage.

Miss Remarkable Gets her Final Voice

At this very moment Miss Remarkable is getting her final voice but so is her mother, her father and the coneheads. The 30min short film is currently in the capable hands of Magnus, the sound mixer who is adding the music, sound effects and final voice tracks to give the animation an audio polish. It will be great to see everything working together on screen.
Fergal @ work

Please meet Mr Fergal Brennan who is now graduating from a couple of months of A Man & Ink as he is heading back to college to his 3rd year of animation in IADT in Dublin. It has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, splashing through the Galway Film Feastival, on to Miss Remarkable and The Variety Show, stopping off at Anime Studio Pro and Final Cut Studio lessons and on to production management and tracking methods. I think his head may be filled to the brim. Although my proudest moment is that he is leaving us with a 167 zombie kill score, (but then again that is unconfirmed).
And there is one thing I wonder about, will he ever get used to one screen computers ever again?

A Little Warm Up Sketch

So this morning as part of a warming up for the day ahead, I doodled up this little girl straining for her fallen stilt. Then I happened to watched a trailer for the up coming film Zombieland, and that got me thinking. Why is this little girl on stilts in the first place and what is just off screen?
Emm! 2 + 2 just might make 4 a rocking little short.
