Miss Remarkable and her Career(Fröken Märkvärdig & Karriären) will be making it premier at the Annecy International Animation Festival 2010 7th – 12th June. And we are looking forward to the visit to the sun and french based cinema. Myself, Michael and two animators on the film, Donal Mangan and Fergal Brennan will be making the trip south.
Tonight it all starts as our first tv series gets an airing. Unfortunately, for now only people within Ireland will be able to see it, but at 18.30 for the next 2 weeks, right between The Simpsons and Home and Away, The Variety Show will take to the stage.
At this very moment Miss Remarkable is getting her final voice but so is her mother, her father and the coneheads. The 30min short film is currently in the capable hands of Magnus, the sound mixer who is adding the music, sound effects and final voice tracks to give the animation an audio polish. It will be great to see everything working together on screen.
So just incase anyone missed it in recent days have a look at what David O’Reilly has been producing recently. Its a great video for the new U2 song. Its definitely worth zipping over to his vimeo to check out his HD version of the animation.
A little while back to help some animators we are working with to get used to working with Anime Studio Pro I created a couple of Tutorials and videos illustrating our process and how we work in the programme. I am now putting them out to the general public if anyone would like to download them.
Finally for animators working on The Variety Show we created an animation test

Dinny loves his pet pig, Seamus and all he wants is the best for him. And fame is all Seamus wants. So it’s time for the two to hit the Variety Show stage and show the judges what they are made off.

We are currently in pre-production of The Variety Show. And are racing full stream ahead with our script writers Will and Hugh bashing out idea after idea of what a talent show can be really like. We are also working on test animation and cant wait to get cracking on the first episode in the coming weeks. At the end of it all the 10 episodes of 1 min each isscheduled for broadcast on RTE in the Autumn Time.
Libby, 8, has a new best friend. His name is Wulfie and he’s a very nosy, very purple Big Bad Wulf. He can grow to the size of a house, shrink small enough to be invisible, stop time with a sneeze and never ever takes “no” for an answer.
Keeping him out of trouble is going to be a full time job.
WULFIE, our tv series currently in development has a brand new Projects Page.
For the last few years, since 2005, we have produced The Galway Film Fleadh’s Trailer. It is a 30 piece of animation that plays before the films and on the Eyre Square big screen throughout the festival as well as on tv and in selected cinemas throughout the country running up to the July festival. It has always been a great project to be involved in and it allows us to try out different techniques in our animation.
Below are some of the trailers from pervious years.
For the 2008 Junior Film Fleadh we produced a trailer to play before the films for the run of the festival. The 20 second piece of animation was based on the magic of film, exploding on to the screen.
The animation was produced with a Apple’s Motion, with drawn elements brought in for Flash and Photoshop.
