A little while back to help some animators we are working with to get used to working with Anime Studio Pro I created a couple of Tutorials and videos illustrating our process and how we work in the programme. I am now putting them out to the general public if anyone would like to download them.

First off was a very brief tour of the work area

Then there was the always present Bouncing Ball Tutorial

Finally for animators working on The Variety Show we created an animation test

Tutorial Files (this also includes a brief explaination of our process in Animating in Anime Studio) – 02_whip_test.zip

I hope these come in useful to people out there.

Last week was the Galway Film Fleadh and it is always a great time to catch up with the animation people from around the country. One of the only times in the year where we all manage to get together under the one (usually a pub) roof.

During the chit chat Michael managed to whip out his iPhone for a quick snap shot of the moment and here in the photo from left to right, is myself, Jeremy, Mr. Will Collins (writer on The Variety Show & Song of the Sea), Sir Tomm Moore (Director and Head Honcho of Cartoon Saloon as well as Director on The Secret of Kells), Master Barry O’Donoghue (Chief of Barley Films and Producer of many an award winning short at the fleadh), and the lovely Madame Liselott, the better half of Tomm.

Let’s welcome Dinny and Seamus to the stage.

Dinny loves his pet pig, Seamus and all he wants is the best for him. And fame is all Seamus wants. So it’s time for the two to hit the Variety Show stage  and show the judges what they are made off.

If you want to see more of this intriguing Variety show, pop on over to The Variety Show blog and check it out for some of the extra stuff we dont post here.

During a render of sc 34, a reasonably long scene at 996 frames, I figured I would pass the time and do a couple of quick sketches to promote out Twitter Account. At the time of posting we are tittering on 49 followers and in an effort to push it over the edge of the half 100 I though I would to a little self promotion. So here you go, enjoy, although it is only some of the ways little birds communicated before the age of the 140 character restriction.

We recently had the pleasure of working with the guys at Flip Animation Festival and we produced a series of festival attendees for their various promotional materials. The illustrations will be used on their website and print brochures for the coming festival in November. Below are a selection of illustrations of  the type of people that would attend such a festival.

Be sure to head over to their festival website to check out the coming festival and all they have going on, or click here to read what they have to say about us.
